In dealing with any kind of conflict,
it is important to be aware of one’s own style in dealing with conflict. By
“conflict style”, we mean a the collection of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors
that constitute the way we approach conflict.
The following questionnaire will help you to assess your own conflict style. In order to do this, complete the Conflict Style Profile, a 32 item questionnaire that uses a scale from 1–4. Don’t spend too much time determining exactly where you fit on the scale. Just indicate your initial reaction. After you have completed the Conflict Style Questionnaire, fill in the Conflict Style Profile Score Sheet and transfer your responses (1,2,3,4) from the Questionnaire to the Score Sheet. After transferring your responses, add each column under the letters A–H, to get the total score for each column.
